2017 Events and Activities in the BVI

Full moon parties in the BVI are spectacular and have something for everyone. Island music, dancing, local cuisine, art, shopping, and heavy partying make these beach-side festivals perfect for a great night out.

There are 2 locations to join the Full Moon Party:

Bomba Shack, Capoon Bay
This is a street party next to the Bomba Shack Bar in Carpoon Bay. The party starts late and Bomba himself serves his infamous Midnight Tea at the stroke of midnight. The tea’s special mushroom ingredient may or may not be legal by BVI law, but it is hallucinogenic!

Fire Ball, Trellis Bay
This is a beach party in Trellis Bay, right next to the Beef Island Airport. These parties are known for Aragon’s gigantic FireBalls, which are set on fire on the beach and in the bay. The Fire Balls sculpture and water-side events make the party family friendly. Brightly costumed stilt-walking Moko Jumbi dancers tower over the crowd as they dance to steel drums and Reggae and calypso sounds.

BVI Spring Fest 17 is set for March 3-5 @ Cane Garden Bay Beach Tortola BVI, music and fun on the beach with international artist and local performances!! The main attraction is American Grammy Award Winning Singer, Songwriter, & Actress “MYA”. Mya has many hits like “My Love is Like…Wo”, “Case of the Ex”, “Fallen”, “It’s all about Me”. In addition to becoming a finalist on “Dancing with the Start”, Mya can also be seen acting on TV shows such as “NCIS”, “Haunted” and “ Sister, Sister” and in films such as “Chicago” for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Swim & Sup the Sound is held in The Gorda Sound (Virgin Gorda) and is one of VISAR’s most successful fundraisers. Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) is the only organization in the British Virgin Islands dedicated to saving lives at sea.
The race starts at Saba Rock and ends on the beach at Leverick Bay Resort and includes 2 & 3 mile competitive open water swims across the Sound, and a 2.5 mile paddle board race. The fun continues after the race with a fantastic BBQ, raffle, awards presentation and family fun on the beach in Leverick Bay.

The Anegada Lobster Festival is for everyone who loves food, loves lobster, loves the Caribbean and dreams of the British Virgin Islands! Anegada Lobster Festival 2017 is a two-day culinary event held on the shores of Anegada on November 25th and 26th. The event was created to entice our community, visitors, new travellers and the niche market of food connoisseurs to the shores of the British Virgin Islands to experience our versatile tourism product. The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, together with the population of Anegada, will feature talented local chefs who will be on hand to prepare, cook, and serve plated sample lobster dishes at participating Anegada restaurants.

Last, but not Least: Every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 5:00-7:00pm, come and see the Pirate Show in Leverick Bay Resort. HAPPY Arrrrrr….an original musical comedy show about the days of old, pirates and sailing the BVI’s. Clean and fun for all ages geared for the charter trade guests and bare boaters alike. Written and performed by the last traditional one man band in the Caribbean, Michael “Beans”. Complete with conch shell blowing contests, prizes and giveaways. Come and wear your best pirate costume and join in the show!
