If you are visiting our website, it means that you have either booked a charter with us or are considering the BVI as your sailing vacation destination. Either way, we are delighted that you are thinking about sailing around our islands and we look forward to welcoming you for the first time or welcoming you back.
Each day we celebrate the re-opening of our shops, hotels, bars and restaurants. Some establishments are still in repair, but will be open soon. In the description below, we would like to inform you of what’s open today and recommended by our staff. We hope this is very helpful for the planning of your vacation:
The Sports Club has a nice restaurant and is walking distance from our docks. In Road Town, you can have lunch or dinner at the Watering Hole serving a small selection of burgers, sandwiches and pizzas, an American restaurant called Pussers, an Italian restaurant called Capriccio’s, an Indian restaurant called Taste of India, a chic French Restaurant called Fantasia by Giorgio’s or a Sushi restaurant called Pearl of the Orient. Village Cay is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another great breakfast place is Island Roots. Our large supermarkets Bobbie’s, Riteway, RTW (wholesale) and One Mart are open and fully stocked with fresh produce. We offer a sleep-aboard the night before your charter, but if you need a hotel in Road Town, we recommend the Maria by the Sea, Fort Burt, or Hummingbird House. Village Cay has a few rooms available.
Rest of Tortola:
For restaurants on Tortola we can recommend the Tamarind Club, close to Josiah’s Beach and the Red Rock restaurant on your way to the airport. Nanny Cay has a few bars (Mulligan’s and Beach Bar) that serve cold drinks, snacks and bar food, they have a swimming pool and small beach for relaxation. Their hotel is open again as well. Our chic restaurants Brandy Wine Bay and Sugar Mill will be open soon.
Norman Island:
Unfortunately the famous Willy T is stranded on the beach in the bight, but we’ve heard there will be a new ship coming this year to replace her. Great food, drinks and fun can be found at the Pirates Bight. The main restaurant is not open yet, but the smaller “Club” is open for casual lunch and dinner each day. The great snorkel attraction here “The Indians” and “The Caves” are ready to explore with more marine life than before. Norman is also great island for a good hike with a fantastic view of the Sir Francis Drake channel.
Peter Island:
The resort will be closed for repairs for the rest of the year, but you still can take a mooring or anchor in Deadman’s Bay, Great Harbor and Little Harbor
Cooper Island:
The Cooper Island Beach Club is scheduled to reopen April 1st, but you still can pick up a mooring ball here. It is fantastic snorkeling around Cistern Point.
Virgin Gorda:
The Baths in Virgin Gorda are without a doubt one of the signature attractions of the BVI. They are essentially a magnificent structure of boulders that sit on the beach in beautiful formations with serene cave like pools and they are as beautiful as ever before. When you’ve finished exploring the baths, take the pathway up the hill for a beautiful view at the restaurant Top of the Baths. In the Gorda Sound you can visit Leverick Bay Resort and Marina for drinks and food, as well as overnight mooring, water and ice. A very chic and modern tapas restaurant called Coco Maya is highly recommended!
Jost van Dyke:
In Great Harbor, our famous Foxy’s is open for lunch, dinner and nightly entertainment. In White Bay you can find a couple of nice beach bars. Soggy Dollar Bar is famous for its Painkiller cocktail and serves lunch. Hendo’s Hideout is the new bar/restaurant next door and serves also lunch and drinks.
Anegada:
Anegada is pretty much untouched and still a beautiful white beach island with palmtrees, flamingos and fantastic snorkel spots on the reef. All restaurants serve lobster and are open for lunch and dinner. The Anegada Reef Hotel and The Wonky Dog are recommended close to the anchorage, but also head further out on the island and visit Big Bamboo in Loblolly Bay or the Cow Wreck bar and restaurant
Scrub Island: The Resort, restaurant and Marina will reopen in April/May.

This is great information, mostly about restaurants. How about availability of provisions throughout the islands? Will you have an updated report this month on availability of groceries,, fuel, water, and ice? We’re headed there in early March. Thanks.
BVIYC says
We will provide you with updated information on your chart briefing.
