A crewed all-inclusive charter is all about sailing, beaches, watersports and relaxing, right? RIGHT! But you forget a very important part of your vacation as well: The food on board. Sailing vacations nowadays are just as much of an adventure for the taste buds as they are for the rest of the senses. Food is an essential ingredient to any unforgettable crewed charter.
When you charter a crewed yacht, you get an all-inclusive experience that rivals with a 5-star resort. Your very own captain and gourmet chef will treat you to the stylish comfort of a spacious catamaran complimented with gourmet meals, hors d’ oeuvres, and signature cocktails, all suited to your personal tastes.
The galleys on board might be small, but the chef is trained to craft some of the most mouthwatering cuisine in a variety of unique styles. We often receive reviews from clients that were amazed the food could be so incredible on board. All pictures of this blog are actual food pics taken on board a crewed all-inclusive yacht!
What’s included?
All Breakfasts, lunches, 3 course dinners, snacks and drinks (open bar!) are included in your charter. But it does not stop there! The chefs on these yachts are culinary professionals and many have trained in the best culinary schools and could be working in the top-restaurants around the world, but they have decided to live on the water instead and serve a select group of guests.
The chefs are truly amazing, and you can expect gourmet meals, beautiful presented, coming out of their galleys. The crew will serve you the best food and drinks of these islands and will clean up afterwards!
Preferences and restrictions/allergies
Before your charter we will ask you to fill in a preference sheet for your crew. On this sheet you can fill in the food and drink preferences for your charter. If there’s a certain food you love, or foods you try to avoid, our chefs are happy to accommodate any dietary needs or restrictions. There is a separate preference section for the children in case they are picky eaters or just want something different than the adults in the group.
Chefs prepare meals precisely according to your preferences and dietary needs. Are you gluten-free vegetarian or vegan? No problem. Just let your chef know and he or she will create the most incredible meals you’ve ever eaten along with handpicked wines and desserts.
The chef will prepare a menu for you based on your preference sheet and will contact you shortly before your charter to talk about this menu and make changes upon your request.
Drinks
All-inclusive also means all of you drinks – alcoholic or non-alcoholic – are included and unlimited. Premium wines, champagne and liqueurs are not included, but can be arranged for cost price. The captain will make you cocktails like Mojito, Painkiller and Bushwhackers at sunset (or all-night long!) Any wine you like will be served with lunch and dinner. The chef knows how to pair the wines with her meals for a beautiful combination.
Most crewed yachts have high-end coffee machines on board and can make you a perfect espresso, cappuccino, latte or regular coffee. The crew will also make sure they have the right milk, tea, sodas, juices etc. on board that you preferer.
You can let your crew know which brand of beer or liquor/ spirits you prefer and most brands are available here in the Virgin Islands. If not, the crew will let you know and give you options for substitutes.
Half-board
Some of the crewed yachts offer half-board charters, which is the same as all-inclusive, but you take a few meals ashore at your own expense. In general 3 lunches and 4 dinners are not included in your rate with a 7 night charter. The half-board option is a great option if you would like to explore the local restaurants as well, but please note it does not save you any money in the end and the food on board is much better than you will get in the restaurants!
