Cooper Island is conveniently located an easy day’s sail from our base in Road Town. Several of the BVI’s top attractions are within the next day’s sail: the Wreck of the Rhone, The Baths, The Dogs and even Norman Island downwind.
So, Cooper Island has long been a popular first night stop for BVI Yacht Charter guests.
This year there are even more reasons to visit Cooper Island and the Cooper Island Beach Club. The resort has just completed a terrific expansion.
The Sea Grape Boutique now has over 900 square feet of designer beachwear, jewelry, unique gifts, local artwork and essential sundries.
There is a fantastic new coffee shop serving a full range of coffees and gourmet pastries for breakfast and lunch – even an organic espresso, salads and sandwiches for lunches.
For sun-downers, the new Rum Bar offers a wide range of rare aged rums, unique house-infusions and classic cocktails made with rums from all over the Caribbean. Their collection has grown to over 100 different rums each with their own story to tell. Their professional bar staff will explain all about their origins and history.
A thatched gallery roof links the new outlets and provides shaded seating, power outlets and free WIFI. The additional outdoor decks provide elevated views of Manchioneel Bay’s sandy beach and turquoise water.
Sail Caribbean Divers also have a new building still offering a full range of PADI dive courses, watersport rentals and daily excursions to the amazing wrecks and coral reefs nearby.
In line with the resort’s environmental policies, the roof of the new expansion has 64 new solar panels. This brings their total to 208 photovoltaic panels, producing over 75% of the resort’s energy needs.
