BVI YACHT CHARTERS: Atlantic Crossing
Sailing is about adventure. This Atlantic Crossing is about enjoying the open seas, with the wind blowing through your hair, and occasionally, about challenging yourself.
There are many challenges to be taken on, from small ones like a dinghy race, to big ones like circumnavigating the globe in a solo trimaran.
An Atlantic Crossing is certainly a challenge and one that must be for any sailor’s bucket list. It provides four week’s worth of unique experiences from battling the weather and waves to enjoying the amazing peace that comes when covering 2850 nautical miles.
It requires a passion for the ocean, an enthusiasm for hard work and a love of adventure as you are never sure what might happen next when in the hands of the water gods.
One thing you can be sure of when arriving in Tortola, BVI from the Canary Islands is there will be a rum punch and a cold beer waiting for you and the knowledge that you have joined an exclusive club of people who have conquered the Atlantic. Previous members include Christopher Columbus, Sir Francis Drake, the pilgrims of the Mayflower and many more!
You will make lifelong friends and have lifelong memories to reminisce about. It is not an every day experience.
There are risks, there is no doubt about that, so it is not a trip for the faint-hearted but all safety precautions will be taken to ensure it is a safe voyage.
If you are interested, then please read the finer details below and contact Abbie or Cassie for more information.
You never know, it could be the best thing you ever do…!

Hi I’m interested in the second leg crossing the Atlantic on a mono hull cruiser. I have recently acquired a commercial endorcement of my skipper ticket, and would love to gain experience of a ocean passage.
David Jones says
Talk about a retirement planning! Having just finished John Kretschmer’s “Sailing a Serious Ocean”, this is a serious addition to the bucket list. Now I just have to figure out when myself and my wife can retire and/or take 4 weeks off………….
Doug Bethune says
I’m very interested to learn more. I’ve chartered with y’all so you know about me and my resume. I’ve done about everything short of blue water with that left to do.
Please email me and we can discuss. Best wishes. Doug.

I’ve chartered in the BVI (bareboat, mono-hulls) numerous times, I’m a retired Mechanical Engineer and was in the Navy as 3rd Class Machinist Mate(after high school & before engineering College, BSME) where I ran steam turbines, pumps & repaired diesel engines. I continue to sail weekends, racing Snipes against a very competitive fleet here in Rochester, NY. I would love to do a trans-Atlantic crossing –a real adventure!
Dave Griffis says
Interested in any of the crew member listings. Have been involved with deliveries in the past.
Doug Linton says
Would be interested in more info, particularly estimated duration of second leg.
