A plea from the BVI Humane Society for volunteers flying to Buffalo from the BVI! As an open admission shelter, the BVI Humane Society accepts every homeless, abandoned, abused and unwanted animal in need of our help. The shelter is currently home to dogs, cats, rabbits, bunnies, turtles, iguanas, exotic birds and even a monkey. Unfortunately, the number of homes available to abandoned pets on Tortola is limited by the size of our island community. Out Humane Society is a non-government funded organization which relies heavily on the generous donations of the community and fundraising events. Our Shelter Pet Transfer Program helps save lives by sending dogs to mainland shelters with more exposure and high adoption rates. This opens up space here to save another animal in need. We currently have the opportunity to send our coconut retrievers to the Buffalo Humane Society, but we need your help to escort these dogs. ALL costs are covered, ALL paperwork is completed in advance, ALL you have to do check the dog in at the airport, and claim it back from baggage reclaim at the other end, where the dog will be handed over to a representative from the Buffalo Humane Society. If you can help please contact the BVI Humane Society by emailing humane@surfbvi.com or calling T: +1 284 494 2284 or visit their facebook page.
