BVI Yacht Charters has established close relationships with Porto Colom Yachting, in Mallorca Spain. We are proud to offer our customers charters in these gorgeous Mediterranean cruising grounds, aboard our very own Yachts. Bruno Too, Uwelli, Starelli and Bigelli will be available for charter in the BVI during the Winter Months, and Mallorca during the summer months June till October. We can say with confidence, that the yachts on offer are well appointed, impeccably maintained and in superb condition.
The beauty of sailing around Mallorca’s 555km of coastline is that you will experience a wonderful variety of landscapes and a wide choice of places to stop off. You’ll be able to admire dramatic mountains that plunge into the sea, shallow turquoise waters, long natural beaches bordered by sand dunes, natural parks and idyllic coves with their secluded beaches.
Mallorca & Menorca Itinerary.
Day 1: Sail north to Cabo Pera (ca. 20 miles). On the way, after about 6 miles you pass Cala Barcas. A very nice stop for a swim and maybe a bite to eat. There are no hotels in Cala Barca, only beach goers and it is famous for its caves and sandy bay. Once you reach Cabo Pera, you have two choices, Cala Radjada, a little port with many restaurants and a very good night life or on the other side of Cabo Pera the anchor bay of Cala Molto for a quiet evening.
Day 2: Sail East to Ciutadella, Menorca ( ca. 23 miles). Ciutadella is the old capital of Menorca. The british changed the capital to Mahon and the larger harbor for its fleet. Ciutadelle is famous for its Caldareta, a sort of fish stew. Worth trying, if your into fish.
Day 3: Sail along the south coast of Menorca, with many Calas or bays to anchor in, swim and eventually stay the night. Worth mentioneing is Cala Trebeluja and/or Cala Covas.
Day 4: Carry on sailing the south coast of Menorca, to the capital of Menorca, Port de Mahon. The capital of Menorca and once home to the British Mediterranean fleet, still feels amazing. The deep and long harbor (roughly 3 miles long) is still frequented by naval ships and cruise ships. Old fortresses on both sides and lots of history. They still make Gin in Mahon and the old buildings have sash windows. Stay on the quay of Sunseeker Menorca, with good facilities. But many more options for mooring are available.
Day 5: Sail back to Porto Pedro (ca. 60 miles). Once there, take a buoy or a mooring in the Club Nautico. Lots of small restaurants along the harbor front.
Day 6: Spend the day swimming in one of the many calas on the way to Porto Colom. Especially nice is Cala Mitjana or Cala Sa Nau. Arrive back in Porto Colom at 17:00.
