MORE DETAILS ON ALTERNATE CURRENT
Alternate Current, the Elba 45 from BVI Yacht Charters, is a stylish catamaran featuring slightly inverted bows, a reverse sheer to its hulls, and a sporty coach roof and Bimini that doubles as a flybridge lounge.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Each hull below deck mirrors the other, with double guest cabins located fore and aft, each equipped with its own en-suite head and separate shower. The salon is bright and spacious, perfect for relaxing. A large sliding door aft extends the living space into the cockpit, which includes a dining table and ample relaxation areas. Indoors, visibility is excellent in all directions, thanks to oversized windows, with the center forward window opening outward to let in the breeze. Skylights overhead provide a clear view of the sails, and there is a low coffee table nearby.
ABOVE DECKS
The Elba 45 from BVI Yacht Charters offers an impressive array of outdoor spaces, focusing on dining in the cockpit and lounging either there, on the flybridge, or on the foredeck sun pads. The deep cockpit features sofas and a sunbed, allowing you to choose where and how to enjoy your afternoon siesta, followed by grilled treats from the outdoor griddle.
PERFORMANCE
Powered by a pair of 60hp Volvo diesels with saildrives (50 hp is standard), the Elba cruises comfortably at about 8 knots and can reach over 9 knots in get-there-quick mode. Sailing performance is similar.
