MORE DETAILS ON ARUN
Arun, our beautiful brand new (2020) Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 offers two cabins with 2 heads, a spacious cockpit and a large swim-platform.
The Oceanis 38.1 cleverly combines practical features, performance, and elegance on boat sizes where function generally outweighs personalization.
EXTERIOR DESIGN
The Oceanis 38.1’s chined hull offers particularly surprising cruising comfort. Good and taut to aft and low on the water, the rigidity under sail of this cruiser takes her further and faster, with exceptional stability. It is a joy to have two helm stations, a mainsail arch and a huge swim platform on a sailing yacht this size.
INTERIOR DESIGN
For the Italian design team, the challenge was to multiply the living spaces in the saloon and offer greater privacy in the owner cabin, while maintaining the visual perspective that her opening to the bow offered in previous versions.
The new L-shaped galley makes a facing seat saloon arrangement possible.
SAILING PHOTOS OF THE OCEANIS 38.1 ARE PHOTOS OF A SISTERSHIP, AND NOT ARUN HERSELF.

“My wife had been wanting to sail in the BVIs for years – I was not so sure, preferring more ‘adventure’ in my holidays! It turned out to be the best decision we’ve made in decades…. Leaving from a cold, wet UK to the sunny climes of Tortola, 28C, warm waters and steady F5 winds meant that we had the best of all worlds. The boat was fantastic, perfectly prepared and with excellent support and encouragement from the team at base, we made the very best of our 11 days onboard. The Islands are all different and it’s a real tonic to say how everyone is working so hard to recover from Irma. My highlights? Three fantastic 25-mile sailing days in great conditions; eating the freshest lobster as the sun sets, with my toes in the sand on Anagarda; and, of course, enjoying a painkiller at the Soggy Dollar! And that’s not to mention the secluded anchorages, the amazing range of birds and wildlife, and swimming with turtles! We’ll definitely be back for more, and soon! Thank you so much, BVI Yacht Charters!” – Richard Stokes, February 2020, Arun
“ARUN was perfectly clean and ready to go upon our arrival. Provisions from Rite-Way arrived early in the morning around the time of the chart briefing. We also went to One-Mart across a very busy street for last minute things. Chart briefing was concise as was the boat briefing; plenty of opportunities for questions and as we were the first to sail this brand new boat we had a lot of questions about systems. The boat performed perfectly; no issues other than a door handle set screw that came loose. We would have felt comfortable calling with any problems for a fix from the folks at BVIYC who we had confidence in every step of the way with regard to communication and follow-up. We have heard nothing but good things from others who have chartered with BVIYC and local boat owners and business folks spoke highly of them. We had a wonderful time sailing and exploring Norman, Leverick Bay (Virgin Gorda), Anegada, Cane Garden Bay (Tortola). This was our first trip to the BVI and we are hooked. We will definitely work with BVI Yacht Charters in the future and plan to return next year. Our best sunset was at Kelly’s Cove on Norman. An area we probably won’t visit again is the Baths on VG; too many people. Our group loved the sail to Anegada and we will spend at least 2 days there next time. If you don’t have a captain you will need to be comfortable with straightforward navigation and the related planning as well as skinny water.” – David Nelson, February 2020, Arun
