MORE DETAILS ON DISCOVERY
Discovery, a Dufour 470, is safe, easy to handle, fast and exceptionally spacious. The design combines the sportiness of a racer boat with the comfort of a cruiser. The result being the ultimate charter boat – fast and easy to sail, comfortable and fun.
The cockpit is shaded by a double bimini, while natural wood covers the floor. A compact set of stairs lead to two large and inviting large helms. When lowered the size of the platform is impressive, and exetension of the cockpit while moored and it extremely useful when climbing out of water after a snorkel.
Both helm seats lift up to give access to the big fold-down bathing platform. The trademark outdoor galley and barbecue, is used with the bathing platform folded down. Be the envy of the anchorage when you fire up your grill!
From the cockpit an easily accessible step leads you to the decks. Super safe and convenient, they also serve as lockers for halyards.
Both helms are set low and each one has a control panel with necessary equipment – compass, autopilot, monitoring etc. Halyard winches are accessible from the sides of the cockpit, making it easy to handle the sails.
The cockpit is beamy and offers plenty of space for relaxation while the skipper is at work. A daybed between the helms is the best seat in the house. The cockpit table in folded state is almost unnoticeable, but when opened it can easily be used by 10 people.
Down below in the saloon, is a high-quality beige wooden finish and soft furniture colors, generously lit by the sun through multiple hatches. A table with seating for 8 people with comfortable sofas to your right. On the left side there’s all you need to keep the boat on course: control panel, radio and autopilot, a storage all around.
Right behind the control panel and the sofa you’ll find the main galley with Corian® benchtops, two burner gas stove and oven, covered sink and a large Isoterm double drawer fridge.
The skipper’s cabin in the bow is gorgeous. 4 hatches for lighting during the day, double island king-size bed and a surprising number of drawers with mirrors above your head. For privacy and convenience you’ll find an ensuite head to port and shower to starboard. Equal aft cabins are also flooded with natural light. The main bathroom has a standing shower, minimalistic sink and toilet.
